Waiting for Grandpa to arrive

Well Little E am at work right now… your are going to find that is somewhat close to what you will call home. I am sure that you will play in the office from time to time.

We are heading down to Flint this afternoon to pick up my dad. The first family member that you get to meet outside of your mommy and me. He is heading up to visit and help reshingle the house. He is going to be making you a cradle and was going to be bringing it on this trip, not even knowing about you yet, but then plans changed and he is flying in instead. You should see the one that he made for Grayson, it is very nice.

I am excited to go pick him up and then call Belva and let her in on the news. Yeah for finally being able to tell the family.

By the way, Dave and Jen were praying for you on Sunday w/ us. They are great, you will like them and you will get to play w/ Oliva… and hopefully #2.

Be safe, we Love you.

A walk in the rain

Erin, Nuba, and I went for a walk in the rain yesterday, what a wonderful walk. It was warm outside and the rain was falling so gently. When we arrived home we went inside to get a very special bottle… you see back when Erin and I were dating I went out and got a little heart shaped bottle and stood out in the rain until it was filled and then gave it to her. Since then, we emptied out the original contents and stood in the rain together after we were married and filled it up again. So last night we emptied it out for the last time and stood in the rain and filled it up again. You see this will be Little-E’s bottle of rain… and if the Lord blesses us with a second child some day then we plan on getting a second bottle.

Keep safe Little E. Your mommy and I are praying for you daily… and have been for some time now. We can’t wait to meet you and bring you to know your Lord and Savior.

Today (08.26.2004) you are 40 days old, to our best guess. That is a great day, a lot of things happened in 40 days and we can tell you the stories later.

Are we going to find out

I would have to venture a guess here and say that the most common first question (or one of the first) after you tell someone is always… Are you going to find out the sex of the baby? As of now we do not plan on finding out. I know it make purchasing some things ahead of time easier and all but we all ready have a girls and boys name picked out so that is all we really need. Lots of yellow and green cloths for now and then we can start purchasing the pinks or blues after the baby is born.

I can’t wait to find out… but that will have to wait until April. We feel so blessed with all that is going on right now.

Telling the family

Well we have a plan and it was going to start unfolding yesterday… but tomorrow is the day. We plan on getting Erin’s parents the phone at the same times (Erin’s is some how going to work this) and I am going to be listening in on the other line. I am not sure if she knows the words that she is going to use yet, but it will flow when the time is right. After we let her parents know we will be calling Marc to let him know as well.

My dad is arriving in three days to help reshingles the house. When we pick him up at the airport, we are going to have a balloon that says ‘Grandpa’ on it… I think he will catch on right away. Then we will give Belva a call and let her know the exciting news and that he arrived safely.

Next Lori, Joe, and Grayson will arrive on Thursday and we will let them in on the news as we give them a tour of the house and show them into the nursery.

And finally, we are going to tell my mom (sorry you are the last to find out this time) via a video chat. This one should be fun. First we plan on having her talk to her grandson (Grayson), then have her talk to her grandpuppy (Nuba), and then let her know that there is another grandchild that would like to say hi… but she has to wait until April to meet him or her.

By the time eveyone finds out we will be around day 48 to 50, depending on when we can get mom on the computer. We can’t wait to share the news w/ our family and then some more friends after that. There are currently a limited number of very close friends at church that know and have been praying for you Little E.

I am trying to make sure mommy gets all of the right sort of foods to keep her and you healthy and strong. The drinking a lot of water in a day has been the largest strugle so far, but it is becoming more natrual now.

I Love you little one. Your mommy and I are very excited that the Lord has blessed us w/ you. We pray that we will be great parents to you and that you are growing healthy and strong now. It is an amazing thing to realize that God knows all of the days of your life even now.
