Heart beat via cell phone

So I head in from my hotel to the airport early (two hours like suggested) to find out that I could catch an earlier flight out of Boston and an earlier flight then out of Detroit… YEAH, that means that I can be home in time to go w/ Erin to the doctors appointment. Well it will be cutting it close, she will have to pick me up from the airport and we will have to rush to the doctors office.

Well after arriving in Detroit I find out that my new early flight will be delayed. Now to call Erin and let her know that I can not make it and that she can come pick me up at MBS as soon as the appointment is over.

So when I land at MBS I turn on the cell phone can call Erin to see where she is… what is this… she is at the doctors office still and they just finished listening to the hear beat. What’s this, the doctor offers to find the heart beat again while Erin holds the cell phone up to the doppler. That was so cool to be able to hear the Little E’s heart beat over the cell phone. A huge thanks to Dr. Johnson.

The appointment went well. Erin and Little E are healthy and all looks good. We have the ultrasound scheduled now… so pictures will be coming soon.

First trip away

Well Little E, this is the first trip that I am taking away from you and your wonderful mother since we found out that you would be joining us. This time the departure at the airport was more emotional then we normally have. I know that the Lord will protect you and Erin while I am away and He will bring us back together again very soon… well five days.

This trip will also bring about the first time that i will miss a check-up for Erin. I hope this is the last, I desire to share in all that I can so that we can be drawing close as a family even now.

We Love you little one. Your mommy is starting to show now. We are taking profile view pictures of her every week or so in order to keep a pictorial record of this wonderful event.

God Bless Little E. We Love you.

Daddy

Who do you talk to first?

Have you ever noticed that once someone has a child, that all the people that come up to them start talking to the child / baby or asking about the child first and then decided to talk to the parents. Does this annoy anyone else? I personally do find it annoying and strive to not do it myself, I strive not to but sometimes I do slip up on it. We have notice that this even happens to parents that are in the expecting phase… oh what do we have to look forward to.

So here is a the deal, I will attempt to continue to remember to speak to the parents first if you do the same.

Little E, you had a chance to see your mommies parents and brother. They are all so excited for all of us and can not wait to meet you. We all Love you.

Preparing for travel

Well Little E it is October 5, 2004 and I am waiting while we get an oil change in our Durango before we head back to South Dakota and North Dakota for a trip. We are heading back to attend the Engelstad Open where we will get to see Andre Agassi play Andy Roddick. This is a birthday present trip for Erin. While we are there we will get to see Erin’s parents, the Wetch’s, and my mom and larry. YEAH! We are getting to make the rounds to everyones house this time. We are also passing along the news that we will not be traveling ‘home’ for Christmas this year. This could come as a shock to all of them but it is time for Erin and I to start making traditions here in Midland, and Erin might not want to travel by then.

Just got the news yesterday that Erin’s parents along w/ her brother Marc will all be coming out for Thanksgiving this year. That is more exciting news. We get to share a full family Thanksgiving this year in our home… and an added bonus is that we have out new table. We will be sharing many a meal around that table.

John, Dave, and I just met for breakfast and we are all praying for you. It is so wonderful to be surrounded by christian brothers that stand in the gap for us. We thank God for them everyday.

Keep growing little one, we love you and shall see you in about 6 months.

Love Daddy
