What a wonderful saturday

So yesterday was a wonderful (but very tiring) day. The day started out with a chance to sleep in and have a very casual morning. After a late breakfast we headed out to register for all of those baby things. We headed out for what ended up being a seven hour day… We stared out over at Target, on to the mall for a little lunch and some much needed coffee, and then over to Babies R’ Us to finish up. Even after seven hours we still have a few things to add on. We have not settled on a crib or glider rocker but we are on our way to finalizing those up. It was a wonderful day sharing it with Erin and being focused on Little E the whole day.

What is with the elephants?

“I know it’s not your birthday or any special day, but I have something very special that I want to say”

So if you have been wondering what is up with the two little elephants that are on the top of the page I thought I would give a quick explanation. One morning I can down stairs for breakfast and found Erin sitting having breakfast all ready and an envelope sitting in my place waiting for me. As I start reading through the inside of the card… I find out that this was Erin’s wonderful way of telling me that she was pregnant. I glance up and Erin is holding the at home test that she had taken that morning and it showed the wonderful news.

Just thought you would like to know.

Kung Fu Fighting

Last night Erin and I had a chance to just go and hang out for a while down at Coffee Choas. This was attempt number two for us to get away and just sit with each other and enjoy a nice cup of java. While we were sitting there Erin asked if I wanted to feel you (Little E) moving around. Wow, you are an active little bugger and the kicks are getting stronger.

This morning Erin dropped me an email and let me know that you had been moving around a lot on the drive to work and as she was flipping radio stations the song ‘Kung Fu Fighting’ came on. We sorta think that is your theme song right now.

Well back to work for me. Today is going very well and I just can’t wait to be rushing through my day so that I can spend the evening with you and mommy.

We love you Little E.

Moved online now

Well we finally did it, we registered our on domain. The main driving force behind finally getting our own domain was to be able to publish images to friends and family once Little E is born. We could have gone with some place that will sell you space for this sole purpose but for a small cost we have our own domain and a lot of disk space for holding images of the little one. Another nice note is that hopefully we can finally stop having to worry about changing email addresses around, friends and family will be getting the email directly to let you know what addresses to use going forward.

So welcome to thelachers.net

Over the half way point now

Well we are past the half way point now. We just registered for our pre-birth classes. And, now we are still waiting. We still have some prep work to do to get the room ready but that will fall into place… hopefully

  • find and purchase a crib (we did not like the first one we picked out)
  • find and purchase a glider rocker and foot rest
  • finish painting the dresser
  • put up all the wall hangings… if we have some
  • watch Erin and Karen turn the bed spread into a fabulous crib bumper
  • get the web site up and together
  • fill the room with supplies that we don’t get at a shower
  • make sure we don’t freak out
  • take it easy and enjoy the time

Erin is looking very beautiful and I am doing what I can to help out where I can. I better pick up some of the slack and just start offering to give the foot messages and back rubs with out having to be asked.

Little E, we can’t wait to meet you. We heard your heart beating the other day at the doctors appointment, it was around 155 that day. I have started talking to you, I hope that you know we love you and we care for you very much.
