big trip, fathers day, roll over, first day of day care
Well time for a little recap since I have not been keeping up on this over the last couple weeks. Since I last wrote we did make a very successfully back to the Dakotas. You had your first trip on an airplane and did very well. You just sat on mommy’s and daddy’s lap and looked out the window, around the plane, and flashing your big smile to those sitting around us. We were so grateful that your ears did not bother you during takeoff or landing. While we were in the airports you just hung out in the stroller taking in the views or being held just looking around.
So over the trip and when we got back we had a chance to celebrate your daddy’s first fathers day. You (and mommy) did such a wonderful job of expressing your love in the cards as well as the gifts. I have enjoyed reading the books to your so far and look forward to many years to come of reading to you.
What is that… you did it!!! That is right, you have had your first roll over all on your own and now you are getting very good at it.

That brings us up to today, you just headed out the door with mommy for your first day of day care and mommy is off to her first day of work since you were born. You are looking so cute and I know that you will be in good hands. Mommy will be over at lunch time to see how you are doing and to feed you. I Love You two ladies and pray that this day goes well and fast for you both.

Well tomorrow we are all heading out on your first big trip. That is right, you are only two months and four days old and we are going to be flying on an airplane to go to daddy’s high school reunion as well as seeing family and friends while we are there. I hope you sleep well tonight with all of the excitement building.

Trip two to the pediatrician: At your check up you weighed 12 pounds 7 ounces and you are now 23 1/8 inches long. Holy cow you are growing like a little weed. After the wellness exam to ensure that you are doing fine it was time for your second set of immunization shots (first set not counting the ones right after you were born). Yesterday you had to get four shot and it was hard on your mommy and I to see you laying there and crying away while you were getting the shots. It was very clear that your cry was a different cry from the hungry or fussy one we are use to, this one was definitely a cry of pain and you had a couple little tears that came along with the cries. The good thing is that when it was all over we where able to pick you up and comfort you. After leaving the doctor’s office we strapped you into the stroller hand headed home. On the walk you calmed down but were ready for lunch when we got home.

Emily Grace yesterday family and friends gathered together to see you baptized into out Christian faith and be marked with the sign of the cross on your forehead and on your heart to to mark you as one that Jesus Christ died and rose again to save.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:1-4
I am such a happy daddy to be able to help raise you up in this Christian faith so that one day you will be stand and profess one your own that Jesus Christ is your personal Lord and Savior.
You have a multitude of people praying for you and your walk with the Lord.
God Bless Emily

Well you did it. After you ate last night mommy sang you a little lullaby and laid you down in your cradle and you still had your eyes open… next thing we know it is 6 hours later when you woke up. Way to go Emily.
