Last week on Wednesday mommy had to bring you home early from day care since you were running a temperature of 101 something. Mommy worked from home the rest of the day and we tag teamed taking care of you. The rest of Wednesday and Thursday we kept you on baby Tylenol to keep the fever down. Mid-day on Thursday we decided it was time to take you in to the docs office and have you checked out. Good thing we did, you have an ear infection. Now for the next ten days, six to go, you are on antibiotics. Okay, this stuff is the same as mommy and daddy took as kids… odd pink liquid that supposedly tastes like bubble gum. Well needless to say you don’t care for it. And it appears to have a nasty side effect, that is you not wanting us to feed you solids either since you think we are giving you those nasty meds. I am sure that will pass and we will be back at the cereal and veggies.

Well we were headed over to our friends house let there dog out while there were out of town. We were almost here when it happened. First Emily spit up a little bit, totally normal for a six month old, but then she must have gagged on it and she emptied the entire contents of her stomach on herself and into the car seat. We quickly pulled over to ensure that she was all right beside the obvious nastiness of being covered. All was okay so we quickly finished up our errand and headed back home… we were going to go out for dinner but those plans got canceled. Upon getting home Erin took Emily inside while I started working on the removal and clean up of the car seat. Did I mention that it was 80 degrees (Fahrenheit)? After getting the LATCH belts loosened up and unhooked from the tether points I removed the dripping seat from the Durango to the driveway. I then worked on cleaning up the seats in the vehicle first, thankfully it was leather seats and not cloth so the clean up was easier. Then turning to the car seat… what the heck… you need a degree in car seat manufacturing to get all of the little snaps and straps undone so that you can remove the cloth portion for washing. After the frustration mounted I did overcome and was able to get the car seat disassembled for cleaning. Now I worried if I would be able get it all back together. This is one time that I don’t want to have extra parts left over. After lots of hot soapy water for the parts and a run through the washing machine for the cloth we had the car seat clean and I was able to get it all reassembled this morning with out incident.
