Pokes and Pictures

Well shortly after your birthday, the next day in fact, it was off to the doctors office for you one year wellness check and immunizations. First the good news, you were 29 3/4 inches long and 20 pounds 14 ounces, right on target little one. Now for the sad news, after the rest of the wellness check it was time for three pokes this time, oh boy did you let you a very hurtful sounding cry and you still have a knot in you leg from them.

Back on better news, you had your one year pictures today and you smiled so pretty and had a great time in front of the camera. I know those pictures with the balloon are going to turn out great.

One Year

So my sweet little girl a whole year, wow! I want to start by saying that your mommy and daddy love you so very much and truly know that you are a gift from God.

Today was a big day and you handled it very well. Where to start… maybe the morning cuddle with mommy and daddy, the big breakfast with blueberries and toast, bath time with mommy and grandma, a car ride with your seat facing forward, that yummy meat and cheese for lunch, or … maybe the CAKE. That was a huge success. At first you sorta just poked at it but then mommy had you taste the frosting and then you went to town on eating it all up. Turns out that you may have gotten an stomach ache as a result. Then after that on to the presents, wow you were given so many wonderful gifts from your friends and family. I am sure that you will have a great fun time playing with all of the new toys and having mommy and me read the great books to you, not to mention having you style all the great cloths. It was a great day and we are so blessed to have all the friends and family share with it.

Little One, I just want to close tonight with a prayer for you:

Lord God, watch over and protect this precious gift that you have given Erin and I. I know that she is your daughter and that you have entrusted her to us while here on earth. We count it a privilege and an honor. I know that you have amazing plans for her and we just pray that we can raise her up to know You so that she may one day give her life to you. Teach us how to be the parents you have called us to be. Pour out your love into this family that we may be a shining light for you. Amen.

Love,
Daddy
