As I sit here with my feet up (been having some ankle swelling lately) working on a cross-stitch for the baby, I was struck with just how blessed I am. More specifically, I have realized that I am married to Superdad. Yes, he may be disguised as a mild-mannered computer geek, but I have witnessed his superpowers - like multiplying time. A “typical” day for Dan involves time working in some capacity at or for the coffeehouse, then devoting a full time day to his job at Sun. When he gets home, he is usually the one to prepare dinner. After dinner may be anything from giving Emily a bath to cleaning up after the dog so Emily can play in the backyard without stepping in any surprises! After Emily is in bed for the evening, Dan goes to work at his “3rd job” - finishing the basement so the kids can have a playroom and he can have an office again (Emily now occupies the room once known as the “corner office”). And it all starts over the next day. Oh, and have I mentioned that Dan is basically a single dad once or twice a month when I am on business travel? I am sure he will be embarrassed when he reads this, but I am just so proud and blessed to be married to this man, who also happens to be an incredible man of God. And that makes him pretty super to me.
