I am really going to try to blog more often this year since I have proven to be a horrible journaler in terms of capturing the moments of the girls’ lives.
I registered Emily for spring soccer today. She is so excited. She got a ball and shin guards for Christmas and is planning on some indoor practice in the church gym with Daddy soon. We are also thinking about having her take a swimming class later this winter. She has moved up to the preschool room at daycare and is loving it, although she is having a hard time napping in a new place right now. The curriculum in her room is mostly about kindergarten readiness skills so that will be good. They do kindergarten parent orientation meetings really early around here, so at this time next year I will be going to the orientation meeting for her already! (We are planning on sending her to K for the 2010-2011 school year as she will be almost 5 1/2 when school starts that fall).
Norah has been very opinionated lately. I think she is frustrated about her lack of ability to communicate, but efforts to teach her to sign make her even more crabby. For now, we get grunts and gesturing. If we are right, she laughs. If we are wrong, she shakes her head no. She has 5 teeth now (the bottom two, the top two, and one next to her top left) and orajel has been a big part of bedtime this week. Somewhere along the line she has figured out how to blow kisses with the palm of her hand. She used to blow them with her fist or the back of her hand.
Also, a shoutout for Dan, who is the best husband a woman could ask for. Yesterday was a rough day for me and he did something to cheer me up that was just perfect. Thanks honey.
