The Lacher Family

Lord, today is the first birthday of one of Your precious children.  You know how my heart is breaking that we are not together for this joyous occasion.  But I know that You are always with her, and that gives me comfort.  I know how You have led us to her thus far and how you will unite us as a family in Your perfect timing.

May you bestow upon Julia extra blessings today.  I pray the package we sent her brings her happiness, and that the birthday cake provides fun and joy for her and all her little friends.  Lord, it is humbling to know that today she may have seen our faces in a photo album for the first time.  For the first time, learning that she has a forever family waiting for her.  I pray that You use that photo album to open her heart to us, to make us familiar to her; that even now you are preparing her to receive the love we have to give, and you are working in her heart to ease her grief at all she has already lost and will lose in her precious young life.

I pray for her caregivers.  God, give them the patience and skills to care for all the children, and help them to know just how appreciated they are.

I pray for her friends.  Some may have forever families waiting for them; others may not.  Lord, may each of those children know the love of a forever family.

God, I lift up JiLei’s birth mother to you.  Today her heart may be heavy thinking of the child she gave up.  We don’t know the circumstances of that God – but you do.  Help her to know that the precious little girl she brought into this world is loved very much and will be well cared for.

Finally, I lift up Julia’s physical needs to you Father.  God, you are mighty to save and I pray that you will physically heal Julia.  You know what ails her, and we place her in Your healing hands.

Thank you so much for bringing our daughter into our lives.  We pray that the days go quickly until we are united as a family forever.  And thank you Jesus, for your compassion and tender love, sustaining us through the wait.
