Love
So I could write this post about a lot of things. I could detail the low point that Dan and I had as parents several nights ago. I could let you know how much better things have been since then. I could talk about progress that Julia is making in several areas. But instead, I have something very important to share.
I LOVE my daughter’s hair.
I love how it sometimes looks jet black and other times looks like the darkest of espresso beans. There are times that it looks almost blue. And my favorite is when she is in the sunshine. Her hair reflects every color of the rainbow. It is so beautiful.
And it grows so fast! In her birthday pictures in late December, she barely had stubble thanks to a recent head-shaving. When we met her in early March, her hair was so spiky and cute. And now, only two months later, it is long enough that it all lies down flat and it covers her neck and most of her ears. I actually won’t be surprised if her hair is longer than Norah’s by the end of summer. Keep in mind that Norah is 3 1/2. And has NEVER had a haircut.
Julia’s hair is something that will always set her apart in our family from a visual standpoint. I hope that when she looks in the mirror, she sees the beauty that we see.
