Missing the 34th week

Well I am on my flight to California Little E and I am going to miss being present for the 34 week of your mommies pregnancy. I am so glad that I have been able to be right by her side as much as I can be. We went to the first of five pre-birth classes last night and started to learn more about what the end of this pregnancy is going to be like. We have two great teachers that will be informing us and helping to answer all of our questions, so thanks in advance to Becky and Nicole. The best part is if we forget to ask anything or don’t feel like we received a full answer we can always ask Dave and Jen.

Jen is waiting for you to get there and grow up a little so that Olivia will have another play mate. Secretly, well not so secretly, Jen is hoping that you are a little girl so that Oliva will have another little girl playmate along with Shelby. Three little girls or two little girls and a little boy… either way I know that that the three of you are going to have a great time growing up together and playing for hours on end.

I think the thing that I am going to miss the most about this week beside being with you and your mommy is the time each night when I lay down with your mommy and feel you kicking away, it is such a great time.

Love you Little E.

Let’s go to the movies

Well Little E we have finally got our camcorder. After months of searching and watching for sales on the Sony we did not even get that one. I know that the grandparents are going to be happy that we finally made this purchase and I am sure they are going to be looking forward to the movies of you that will be coming. We will try to keep they entertaining as well as some serious stuff… you know stuff like learning to crawl, crying at the top of your lungs all night, spitting up all over you just changed cloths, knocking over the tower of blocks daddy just built, sleeping on Nuba… the list just goes on and on.

Okay Little E, the nerves are starting to set in. We are now only seven weeks away from full term. I am starting to think about little things like are we going to have all of the items that you need, what is going to happen the first time mommy has to be gone for any amount of time and I am home alone, will I be able to handle it, are we going to raise you right, what if…

I know one thing for sure Little E, our Lord will provide strength and directions for all of us. In those times when we have know idea what to do He will be there and will strengthen us when we have no strength of our own. It is going to great to teach you about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how He desires to have a personal relationship with you. That might seem like a heavy topic to be thinking about teaching you right now but you all ready know Him and He all ready loves you.

God Bless Little E.

Love Daddy

Gliding away to sleep

YEAH!!! So today we were finally able to order the glider rocker for the nursery and it should be here in four weeks. This is great news since it was originally going to take eight weeks.

Little E we will now have a place to sit and rock you as we feed and comfort you.

I can’t wait for the first time that you fall asleep in my arms. I always found it very cool when Shelby would fall asleep in my arms as I would hold her so I can’t even being to imagine what it is going to be like to hold you while you fall asleep in my arms.

Off to make some carrot cakes now. Your mommy and I are going to a party tomorrow with a group of friends from church and your daddy is bringing the famous low fat carrot cake. Someday I might let you in on the recipe.

Two ladies and a baby

31 on 31

That is right. You are at 31 weeks now and it is the 31st of January.

So let’s catch you up on some things…

  • Karen finished up the crib bumpers and they look great, and she finished up the little wall hanging
  • The crib is up, you now have a mattress, and the bed skirt and the bumpers fabulous. Big cheers to Erin and Karen on thos.
  • Still working on getting the glider… long story but they should be able to order it for us right?
  • Still need to finish up the one dresser and build and install a window cornice
  • Baby Davis’ parents did the registering thing this weekend. It will be a great day when we can all get together. Mommy has never had a chance to meet K&A in person.

That is about all that is going on. Wow just over two months from now you are going to be here and I can’t wait to hold you in my arms.

I Love You Little E.

Big Kicker

Okay Little E you are quite a kicker. It is so fun to lay down in bed each night and wait to feel you start kicking away. You tend to ‘wake up’ just about the time that your mommy and I lay down in bed. I am just waiting for the day that I can tell what is kicking out whether is is an elbow, a knee, a hand, or a foot. But what I really can’t wait for is the day that you make your grand appearance, it is going to be an awesome day.

Love You Little E.

A place to lay your head

A big day in the Lacher household. We now have your crib together Little E. Last night we were out doing a little looking around and found your crib, and the best part is that is was ‘on sale’. If you are girl you are going to know what that means, I think it is in the genes. Today your mommy and I put it together and it looks great in the room, one step closer to having the room all ready for your arrival.

You are moving around a lot every day now. It is so wonderful and amazing to sit down with your mommy and feel you kickin’ away. We have started to read to you almost every night. We are reading you The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein. Your wonderful mommy gave me the copy that we are reading to you on our first anniversary when we were dating. This book just keeps getting more and more valuable as the days go by now.

We Love you and are praying for your every day.

Room layout

So your room is still taking shape Little E. Mommy and I worked out a layout the other day for all of the furniture… but of course it is subject to change depending on who things fit once it is all purchased. The rug showed up the other day and it is very cute, it will add a nice touch to the room. Now we still need to find and purchase a crib, a glider rocker and stool. We have the rocker and stool picked out but now we just have to get them.

Your mommy and her powers of searching online found some wonderful glass knobs for the dresser. Now we just have to finish roughing up the dresser and install the knobs.

Double digits and a new year

Well we are down into the double digit count down now Little E. You are kicking a lot right now and it is so amazing to feel those movements when Erin let’s me know you are moving around. This is so exciting and I can’t wait for April to get here, but don’t rush out we will wait for you.

We just found out that some good friends just had their third little one. Congratulations Darren and Karen and welcome to the world Cormac. The Lacher’s are looking forward to coming up north to meet you, see your parents and brothers. Six more and you have yourself a baseball team Darren :)

So we are in the year that you are going to be born Little E. 2005 is here are we can’t wait to share this year with you.

Love you Little E.

What a wonderful saturday

So yesterday was a wonderful (but very tiring) day. The day started out with a chance to sleep in and have a very casual morning. After a late breakfast we headed out to register for all of those baby things. We headed out for what ended up being a seven hour day… We stared out over at Target, on to the mall for a little lunch and some much needed coffee, and then over to Babies R’ Us to finish up. Even after seven hours we still have a few things to add on. We have not settled on a crib or glider rocker but we are on our way to finalizing those up. It was a wonderful day sharing it with Erin and being focused on Little E the whole day.
